Unfortunately I am now considered a ‘veteran racer’,but I have enjoyed every bit of my 35years being part of this fantastic hobby. I started in the mid 80’s at club level and got to know some great people and friends along the way. My go to class has always been 10th buggies (2wd & 4wd) even when I raced touring cars. The off road buggy was always more exciting to me, and I like to think I am still competitive now.

I have been club racing on and off for around 8 years. I started with 1/10th touring cars then had a break and went back to playing club badminton. Around 4 years ago when my youngest son was interested in the hobby we started racing 1/10th 4WD buggies, but have recently both switched to 1/10th 2WD buggies. We also have a small collection of other RC cars, taking during lock down family walks crawlers and short course trucks. It was fun making in impromptu off road race tracks and taking each other on with the SC trucks.

I am thrilled to be part of the committee at PRCMCC where I will help out with anything IT related plus other more general tasks.

I Started racing 1/8th Nitro around 5 yrs ago, Towards the end of COVID I decided to try my hand at 1/10th 2WD. It’s taken a little while to get used to racing this class as I found it more difficult than 1/8th, When I first started racing all my RC cars had been Sworkz I was fortunate enough to secure Team Drive with Willspeed RC. At the end of 2023 i changed to Team Associated and supported through www.potteriespitstop.co.uk.

Committee Member – Chris Ely

Started racing back in 1991 and other than a couple of brief gaps have raced all the way through, predominantly 1/10th off road but more recently also a fair bit of 1/8th off road and 1/10th vintage too.  RC is a huge part of my life and I like to give back as much as I get out by supporting new racers especially juniors and currently as the BRCA representative for the Mid West region.  Racing has taken me all over the country from Tiverton in Devon up to Edinburgh in Scotland and Pembrey in Wales across to Boughton in Norfolk.  Playing with RC cars is fun, racing RC cars is awesome fun.
